Imago Relationship Workshop
Recovering Our Connection
A "Getting the Love You Want" Workshop for Couples in Recovery
A WEEKEND WORKSHOP FOR COUPLES IN RECOVERY
This two-and-a-half day workshop is the equivalent of three months of weekly private therapy, built specifically for couples navigating recovery together. In just twenty hours, you will gain a solid foundation in Imago Relationship Theory and Relational Recovery, and learn how to apply both to the unique challenges couples face when addiction has been part of the relationship story.
Through informal lecture, hands-on demonstrations, video, guided imagery, and written exercises, you will develop a greater understanding of yourself, your partner, and your relationship as it heals. This workshop is grounded in the belief that recovery rests on three legs of a stool: Your Recovery, My Recovery, and Our Recovery. All three matter, and all three can be strengthened together.
A detailed explanation of why we seek committed love relationships, how they evolve, and how addiction and recovery reshape that evolution will be delineated and dialogued. You will begin (or deepen) the healing process, and connect with other couples willing to co-create a lasting future for their relationship and their recovery.
THIS WORKSHOP, with an emphasis on renewing connection and communication while honoring the realities of recovery, will provide you with the opportunity to Wake up Your Heart and Tear Down Your Walls. Couples who attend this workshop leave with a sense of real hope and renewed determination, for themselves, for their partner, and for their relationship.

OUR CONNECTION
Couples' Workshop?
Connection
This workshop will help you have breakthroughs in your relationship that lead to greater connection, even amid the strain recovery can place on a couple. Whether you are newly in recovery or have been walking this path together for years, you will get the skills to build and maintain connection, one that can hold steady through the work of recovery.
Self-Discovery
Recognize your defenses, including the ones that formed around addiction, codependency, or fear. Learn how to achieve an intimate relationship with your partner. Begin to drop the barriers that restrict growth, change, and recovery.
Partner Discovery
Recognize your partner’s fears and wounds, including how addiction and recovery have shaped them. Learn how to have greater compassion for your partner, and restore connection based on empathy and empowerment rather than blame or resentment.
New Methods of Communication
Learn effective methods to change the negative patterns that have evolved, including the cycles of conflict, distancing, or control that so often accompany addiction. Start to channel the energy from arguments into stability, safety, and trust.
Accepting the Unconscious Forces of Attraction
Recognize the traits and characteristics that brought you together, and how they may have become entangled with old wounds, coping patterns, or the roles each of you took on during active addiction. Discover how they became sources of conflict, and learn to reframe them in the context of your shared recovery.
Co-Creating a New Love Relationship
Work towards the creation of a new vision for the relationship, one that holds space for Your Recovery, My Recovery, and Our Recovery all at once. Discover what is possible when the relationship becomes both a source of healing and a place of safety.
