Develop Your Clinical Skills in Imago Relationship Therapy
Imago Clinical Skills is for therapists who have completed Imago Foundations and are ready to develop a deeper, more confident Imago practice with couples.
This training moves beyond an introduction to the approach and focuses on applying Imago Relationship Therapy in clinical work. You will build your ability to guide couples through conflict, reactivity, emotional disconnection, developmental wounding, affairs, and other difficult relationship experiences.
Through teaching, live demonstration, guided practice, peer work, personal reflection, and clinical discussion, you will learn how to use the Imago Dialogue Process with greater skill and flexibility. You will also develop a clearer structure for helping couples move from repeated conflict towards safety, empathy, repair, and connection.
Imago Clinical Skills includes Clinical Skills I & II, which are completed as one training program. The time between the two blocks provides an opportunity to practise and integrate your learning before building on it in the second part of the training.

The couples workshop is a requirement for certification and provides direct experience of the central concepts and dialogue process used in Imago Relationship Therapy.
What You Will Learn
Imago Clinical Skills builds on the learning from Foundations and helps you apply the Imago approach with greater depth, clarity, and flexibility in your clinical practice.

Clinical Skills I
Clinical Skills 1 develops the core clinical structure of Imago Relationship Therapy and gives you more extensive practice using the Imago Dialogue Process with couples.
You will focus on building safety, helping partners listen and be heard, and supporting couples to understand the patterns beneath their conflict.
Clinical Skills 1 also begins the process of integrating Imago theory with practical clinical intervention.
Clinical Skills II
Clinical Skills 2 builds on the work completed in Clinical Skills 1. You will deepen your ability to use Imago with couples who are more distressed, reactive, or stuck in longstanding patterns.
This block provides further practice, feedback, and clinical application, with attention to more complex relationship concerns and the therapist’s role in helping partners restore connection.
