Dear subscriber,

Last week, I had the great joy of attending the Sweet Home Imago Conference in Chicago, a gathering that brought together some of the most dedicated and inspiring members of our Imago community. It was especially wonderful to finally meet Dr. Ali Ghasemian and his beautiful wife Sahar, along with their baby, Ihan - and our dear student Eli.

Dr. Ali, Sahar, and I have been training therapists in Iran for the past five years, and meeting in person after so many virtual trainings was profoundly moving. I left feeling deeply blessed to be able to do this work worldwide - connecting hearts, bridging cultures, and expanding our collective capacity to love. Moments like these remind me that the relational field truly knows no borders. Connection, curiosity, and compassion are universal languages.

💡 Mindful Love Move #5: Reigniting Curiosity in Love

When couples come to therapy, they often say they’ve “lost the spark.” What they’ve really lost is curiosity - the wonder that first drew them together.
In Imago Relationship Therapy, curiosity is the bridge from reactivity to empathy. It allows us to replace defensiveness with discovery. When we stay curious, we remain open to what’s alive in our partner. - rather than defending who we think they are.

🧪 Try this tonight:

- What’s something you’ve been thinking about lately that I may not know

- When did you feel most at ease this week?

- What do you most need from me when we feel disconnected?

Then simply listen, not to correct, but to connect. Curiosity softens the space between and makes room for love to return.

🧠 Reflection Practice: The Beginner’s Mind

Sit quietly together, breathe, and look gently into one another’s eyes. Silently repeat to yourself:
“There is more to you than I know.”

Notice what shifts. That simple awareness can reawaken safety, compassion, and possibility.

🌟 Community Spotlight

To everyone who gathered in Chicago - thank you for your energy, insight, and shared passion for relational healing. The Sweet Home Imago Conference reaffirmed what makes our community so special: the courage to keep learning and the heart to keep connecting.
And to my colleagues and students around the world - especially those in Iran - I continue to be inspired by your dedication and the love you bring to this work.

Curiosity is not a luxury; it’s the lifeblood of intimacy.
When we lead with curiosity, love finds its way back…every time.
